A native of Massachusetts, I was born in Boston and lived in the South Shore suburbs, studied at Mass College of Art and other Boston institutions, and I worked in Cambridge at a Fortune 500 company for more than twenty years. Presently, I live and work as a fine artist in Bourne, having relocated to Cape Cod in 1996.

I find an endless source of inspiration and subject matter in the Cape and Islands landscape and various aspects of life by the sea.

My travels and treasured experiences in Europe also inspire and influence my recent work immeasurably.

The making of art is tightly woven into the fabric of my life. For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by drawing nature's forms, by color and paint, by design and decorative detail, and by making things by hand … doing anything, really, with a personal creative intention. Through the years, I've studied various art disciplines and worked in a variety of media; and I now work primarily with oil paint and pastels. I find an endless source of inspiration and subject matter in the Cape & Islands landscape and various aspects of life by the sea. My travels and treasured experiences in Europe also inspire and influence my recent work immeasurably.

At Massachusetts College of Art (BFA 1978) I majored in art education and studied painting under master artist George Nick. Although my professional career in business took me down a different path, it was somewhat related to my interest in the arts. At Polaroid Corporation I had the opportunity to work as a project manager with tremendously talented fine art photographers and graphic designers, and I enjoyed creative collaboration with them on various publicity assignments. During those ‘corporate years', I continued to pursue my artistic aspirations by attending art workshops and classes, and I expressed my creative ideas through photography and videography.

In 1998, shortly after relocating to Cape Cod, I directed my career to the making of art exclusively. I joined a number of professional art organizations and served as a volunteer member of the Board of Directors and Chairperson of Special Events at the Cape Cod Art Association (2000-02). Most importantly, during that time I sought out master artists who could help elevate my skills and realize my potential as a fine art painter.

‘To be an Artist' can be a lonely path at times, were it not for some very special people. For all those who've mentored me and influenced my work, sincerest heartfelt thanks seem inadequate. In particular, my teachers and ‘masters' of the Cape Cod School of Art, Lois Griffel and John DiMestico helped me to realize my potential as a ‘colorist'. John Kilroy, a ‘maestro' of many artistic disciplines and philosophies, has brought out the ‘designer and true artist' in me. Each one lighted my path to new creative challenges and discoveries. To my family, friends and colleagues, I'm eternally grateful for their love and encouragement to stay the course, and I thank the Universe for an enriched life.

Since the year 2000, I've exhibited my original paintings at art galleries on Cape Cod, and in special exhibitions throughout New England. Presently, my artwork can be seen at the galleries at Cataumet Arts Center in Bourne, where I maintain my art studio. The public is invited to visit during regular art center hours, or by calling me for an off-hours visit (508)728-3623.
